I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! I know I've been absent lately, I intend on being more active on here from now on. To update you on what I have been up to, here are a few snaps from my Instagram feed (elavelle).

One of my favourite Christmas presents was a book, Photocrafty that I can't wait to get stuck into! I'm going to try to work through all of the projects in there and share the results here.

Tonight I am wrapping up warm, catching up with my blog and trying to decide what to wear to the work christmas party tomorrow.

The perception of iPhone photography is quite mixed. Since Nick Knight presented his Instagram photoshoot earlier this year, the humble iPhone has been regarded by some as a handy substitute camera for when the bulk of your DSLR would not be practical. There is a wealth of Instagram users who are highly regarded for their photography skills, using just the humble phone.

There are some, however, who think that phone photography is giving the art form a bad name. I urge these to take in this shoot by Collin Hughes for Visual Supply's new iPhone app, VSCO cam.

Gift Paper Book - Frankie Magazine

I awoke this morning to find a parcel from Frankie magazine on my doorstep! The latest in a successful line of books (click to read about Spaces and The Photo Album), Gift Paper Book contains ten sheets of retro-inspired gift paper. There are endless options of how to use the paper - you could line your drawers or shelves, create beautiful origami creations, frame a sheet and display on the wall or simply wrap your Christmas presents in a manner that will make them too lovely to rip open.
