Resort 2013

The Resort collections are perfectly timed, that when we are running low on inspiration for summer and magazines are beginning to hint at autumn trends (we haven't even had any sun as yet!), they instantly perk us up. It may be grey and dismal outside, but summer looms hesitantly on the horizon and I, for one am not yet ready for woolly jumpers and heavy fabrics.

My favourites so far from Resort 2013 have been a complete mixture of furious femininity, 1990s pretty grunge and a smorgasbord of delicious print.

Erdem

Typically floral and feminine, Erdem's Resort offering showcased a collection of demure fit-and-flare dresses, amongst a-line skirts, fitted knitwear and matching slim-line suits. The colour combination of navy and fuchsia was fresh and exciting, especially evident when fused together in abstract blooming prints.

Jill Stuart

The 1990s were still apparent as an influence at Jill Stuart, although in a prettier, more youthful aesthetic than that of recent months. The floral shorts-suit and cream embroidered t-shirt dress were instant favourites.

Suno

In my eyes, Suno can do no wrong. Every season, their laid-back shapes and intricate prints seem to get better and better. For Resort, the collection was a hybrid of colour - from peach to mustard to lime green to electric blue - and print - encompassing a broad range of geometric and organic patterns. Favourite pieces included their take on a gingham cheesecloth dress, a relaxed fit geometric printed maxi and the various beautifully patterned slouchy midi-dresses.
