London Calling!
Things are going to be a little quiet around here for a few days. I'm heading to London for a long weekend to visit my best friend and next week I am going up to the lake district for a few days with my boyfriend. Expect lots of photos of my trips and an influx of Fashion Week related posts on my return.
I'm spending Friday exploring London on my own whilst my friend is working. If you have any tips of where to go, what to see or what to do, please let me know! At the moment, my list includes Liberty, Cos, Anthropologie, the Tate Modern and Pink Berry frozen yoghurts!

Pre Fall Thoughts Part Two
Following last night's trend talk from Topshop/Vogue and the delight at finding my Dream Dress (only for my dreams to be dashed by the price tag), I have had Autumnal dressing on the brain.
Whilst this Peter Jensen Perfect Dress may be unobtainable (unless anyone is feeling particularly generous?); I have decided that my basic Fall go-to outfit is going to be a camel androgynous coat casually thrown on over a chic printed dress, worn with black ankle boots.
Option number two (when said Peter Jensen dress is at the dry-cleaners) is a forest green slightly oversized jumper worn with a full leather skirt (this olive green design is also unfortunately beyond my price range, although cheaper than the McQ number I have previously gushed over).
Bring on Autumn.
Greetings From Beacons
The summer isn't complete with at least one festival thrown into the mix. Last weekend, I headed to Skipton in Yorkshire for Beacons Festival that Plank! (my boyfriend's band) happened to playing at.
1. An epic sunset on the Saturday night
2. If any boys happen to read my blog - take note of the wellies-rolled-down trend
3. Epic sunset Part 2
4. Our excellent set-up: camper van, gazebo and tents
5. Plank! live with dancing pig
6. Dreamy ceiling of the In The Woods tent
7. Watching Wild Beasts headline on the Saturday night

Topshop/Vogue
I've just got in from a stylish evening sipping champagne, nibbling canapes and style-spotting at Topshop Manchester's AW12 preview evening in association with Vogue.
After listening to a presentation detailing key trends and must-have pieces from the new collections, I picked up a pair of lace-up ankle boots that I've had my eye on for a while now.
I resisted the temptation to purchase more - although I fell for several pieces in the Pennsylvania trend (a delectable mix of androgyny, autumnal florals, grungy jumpers and faded denim - photos of the impeccably styled mannequins to come in a future post).

Late Summer Inspiration
It's mid-August. Every year, after my birthday I start to feel as though Summer is almost over. Last year, summer dragged itself out long and languid into late October. One can only keep her fingers crossed that will happen again.
Here's to late summer. To festivals and road trips. Loose-fitting dresses and brightly coloured flowers. Epic landscapes, fresh fruit and salty sea.

Birthday Bunting
Last Thursday I celebrated my 27th birthday. My, how time flies! The day was spent enjoying a riverside picnic and a stroll around a nature reserve with my boyfriend, then screwing together a flat-pack picnic bench and decorating the garden with rows of bunting, fairy lights in bushes, tea lights in jam jars and flowers in shot glasses in anticipation of my party on the Friday night. The brief heatwave completed a beautiful weekend.
