I'm currently feeling the urge to paint walls, varnish floors, upcycle vintage furniture and spend all my well earned cash on crockery, wicker baskets and patterned blankets. Is this what it means to get old? I rinsed last month's pay check on plant pots, herbs and wood chip for the garden; now I'm itching to redecorate the interior of our home.
I stumbled across an inspiring blog today. It's not often nowadays that I find myself trawling back through archives of interesting copy and inspiring photographs. I have no time for the hoards of 'look what I'm wearing' blogs out there, and it's rare that I come across a hidden gem. Reading Cat's posts on Take Courage has me plotting trips to Ikea, seeking out local car boot sales, and making a gigantic wishlist on Anthropologie. Seeing other people's upcycle projects is definitely the inspiration I need to start thinking about how I could transform my own home with very little money. (Photos 6, 7 and 8 below are all from Cat's blog).
My dream home? White walls, wooden floors, colourful rugs, patterned tiles, plants all over the place, colourful cushions and blankets, cute crockery, painted wooden furniture, and framed artwork covering the walls.
I think this is definitely what it means to get old. I used to be far more obsessed with fashion, now I barely shop for clothes and spend my days trawling through interior blogs and dreaming of my perfect home! Love all the photos here, I love wooden elements too.
